Announcement by BVSCA President RE: January 2002 Meeting
This is to provide advance notice that Betty Diggs of Arlington County Traffic Calming will be with us at our next membership meeting, Tuesday, January 29th at 7:30 pm in the second floor conference room of the Arlington Central Library , 1015 N. Quincy Street, Arlington, VA 22201. There is plenty of parking both in and out! Betty Diggs will address particular concerns involving nubs, circles, and speed limits on non-arterial streets. She would appreciate having questions in advance. If you have any, please direct them to Ben Axleroad, BVSCA President, by January 22, at his email address: besa@starpower.net.Ms. Diggs has also offered to provide anyone present who has a question about other traffic concerns with the name of the appropriate County contacts so that you may get in touch with them directly. (This would include matters relating to arterial streets, signal lights, stop signs, and pedestrian crossing lanes.)

For those interested in the proposed Arlington Ice Skating Center at Ballston Mall, the plan is scheduled for a second hearing with the Site Plan Review Subcommittee on Tuesday, January 15th at 7:30 pm in Conference Room C and D at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard. If you have concerns, you are most welcome to come and voice them. If you cannot attend, I"ll try to voice your concern if you get word to me by 9 pm on the 14th. Present schedule calls for this item to be heard by the Planning Commission on Jan. 29th and by the County Board on Feb. 9th.

How to Join the Ballston-Virginia Square Civic Association or Renew Your Membership
All individual persons who are residents of the Ballston-Virginia Square Civic Association's area or who in their individual capacity own residential property located therein, shall be eligible for membership in the Ballston-Virginia Square Civic Association. For the purposes of this organization, the boundaries of the Ballston-Virginia Square Civic Association are Kirkwood Road on the east, Glebe Road on the west, Wilson Boulevard on the south, and the I-66 right of way on the north.
If interested in joining the Ballston-Virginia Square Civic Association, please complete the BVSCA Membership Application Form below and send your application and dues to Jeffrey Green, Treasurer, Ballston-Virginia Square Civic Association, at the address below.
Dues are payable when first joining and are renewable each year on or before the annual anniversary of that date. New members and members who have not paid their dues within the three preceding Association years must pay their dues 30 days before they receive voting privileges. Former members who have been members in good standing within any of the three immediately preceding Association years may be reinstated as voting members by paying their dues for that year.
All members of the Association are volunteers. Dues are used to help fund the Association's activities and sponsored events. Please join the Association today, or renew your dues paid membership. Visit us at (http://www.bvsca.org)
