March/April 1997 - Volume 20, No. 5

Construction has begun on Phase I of a three phase construction project at George Mason University, Arlington.

The first phase, scheduled for completion in the summer of 1998, will consist of a 150,000 square foot building with underground parking situated at the corner of North Fairfax Drive and Kirkwood. When all three phases of construction are complete 750,000 square feet of building and 1,100 underground parking spaces will be available.

During construction on-site parking is limited to load/unload and handicap. The university has contracted with Colonial Parking to provide parking for all students, faculty and staff at the National Science Foundation garage located at the corner of North Stuart and 9th Streets. A shuttle bus operates between the garage and campus from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
